DIGITAL NOMAD VISA IN PANAMA – TELE-WORK  – DIGITAL ENTREPRENEURS REMOTE EMPLOYEES 

As Panama is an attractive destination to establish either as a temporary resident or as a permanent resident, it has become the preferred destination for Remote Digital workers and entrepreneurs who can carry out their economic activities from anywhere in the world.

After the pandemic our way of doing work changed drastically and we discovered that we can do it from anywhere on the planet and that is why the government of Panama created decree No. 198 of March 7, 2021 that «Creates the Short stay visa as a remote worker.

This Visa or permit has a duration of 9 months and an extension or extension can be requested, for 9 more successive months.

TELE-WORK – DIGITAL ENTREPRENEURS REMOTE EMPLOYEES

It is very easy to apply for which you must meet the following requirements:

  • That the functions of your employment are performed abroad.
  • Receive income from a foreign source for the annual amount equivalent to ($36,000) US dollars.
  • You must fill out a form issued by the National Immigration Service, where the applicant will agree to assume the costs of repatriation if necessary.
  • Three photographs that you can follow during your trip to Panama.
  • Certificate of existence of the foreign company must establish the place where it is located.
  • You must bring a copy of your medical insurance that must have coverage within Panama and must be valid for the duration of your visa.
  • Letter with the logo or member of the company, it must be signed by the legal representative and must indicate: Applicant’s name, passport, position or position held in the company.
  • Your monthly income or salary or less than USD $3,000.
  • Function in the remote work mode.
  • Obligation or commitment to bear the costs of repatriation to your country if necessary.

Note: The foreign company of a transactional nature where you work must give you a contract that can be as a self-employed worker, as a telecommuter.

FREELANCE WORKERS – SELF-EMPLOYED

Requirements:

  • You must fill out a form issued by the National Migration Service, where the applicant agrees to bear the repatriation costs if necessary.
  • Three photographs that you can get during your trip to Panama.
  • Certificate of existence of the foreign company must establish the place where it is located.
  • Bank letter showing the funds coming from abroad (or) bank statements with the funds received abroad duly stamped by the bank that issued the funds.
  • You must provide a copy of your medical insurance that must have coverage within Panama and must be valid for the duration of your visa.
  • Certificate of the company registered abroad duly apostilled.
  • Sworn statement before a notary public where the commercial relationship with the clients is established, the services it provides to its clients and the income received for the services offered.

Estimated legal expenses:

  • $250 corresponding to the national treasury.
  • $50.00 Cost of the Immigration Card.
